LA Fashion's Night Out....finally
It doesn't matter if it's been like three weeks, I'm still so hyped up about the idea of FNO! My only gripe....I wish it lasted a whole weekend. It should be FWO, you know?!
We decided to start at the Beverly Center where we saw the opening speeches/ceremony. That's our Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and will.i.am and Angelica Houston and other celebs; followed by a fashion show collaboration of bebe, Guess, Bloomies, Rag and Bone, F21 and many others. Total blast! Wish we got more pics:)
Didn't spend much time at the mall because we wanted to hit Melrose, however we did end up, kinda unexpectedly, at f21 for a really long time (ANGELIQUE'S EDIT: WE WERE THERE FOR SO LONG BECAUSE OF MEGAN!!!). They had stylists on hand for free to dress you up. So when this cute girl approached Angelique and Me, I totally went for it....but didn't take any pics. Here's the thing - I had a really fun time being dressed up. She first asked me what my style is or what I was looking for and I told her it didn't matter, that I wanted her to pick things for me that she would like to see me wear. So to have someone style you completely without personal style input is so fresh! You end up with things you would have never picked up. I think everyone should try it! Just go to a store with a friend (that you trust) and have them pick whole outfits....Good times!
So f21 Damage: bought just about everything she put me in....including a blush pink leather jacket! She's so pretty that leather jacket!
FROM THERE we headed over to Melrose where it was no less than a Hollywood block party. Most every store was participating with DJ's and finger foods, drinks...loads! We ended up at Betsey Johnson where it was most definitely the cutest party around. So glamorous.
Pictured below is me and my official FNO Tee, Liques just lookin' cute, Ronnie (Liques mom) trying some sexy shoes, which she did purchase, the DJ, and Brandi (Liques' sister-in-law) enjoying the champagne. Oh! AND they had a little photo op area complete with backdrop and props! We took full advantage!
THEN....we went to another shop and I don't remember what the shop was...omg-what is it?...oh well, (ANGELIQUE'S EDIT: BCBG I THINK..) and Ronnie bought a gorgeous dress for her high school reunion. Yay! She's such a hottie!
NEXT - we decided to do a little self-torture and went to the Alexander McQueen store. Drooled over sunglasses, fondled leopard fur jackets, fantasized about all the shoes. We did manage to capture a shot of Angelique with a bit of heaven on her face.
Below is summary of Liques' accessories. She'll have to detail the necklaces - oh, wait, the chains are borrowed from me (ANGELIQUE'S EDIT: EXCEPT THE "OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE" ONE, THAT'S GRANDMA'S TOO) - the leopard boots, DIY by her! and the drawstring purse, vintage from about 50 years ago found in Grandma's closet. Gems in there! Note the crown on the top
We ended the evening at XIV, a bar/night club/restaurant thingy on Sunset. It was supposed to be an FNO after-party, but I don't think so. We had fun anyway with a few drinks, amazing appetizers, and photoshoot!

Birthday Weekend Teaser
We've had a full weekend of birthday fun for Angelique starting with Fashion's Night out in Los Angeles. Very cool! But that post will come later when we can write it together. For now, here's a quickie: when we went out Friday night for FNO I got this sexy little black dress con leopard bust at XXI Forever. They had stylists on hand to dress you up for fun and I'll admit it was pretty fun to see what someone would dress me in without my input. Anyhoo, I wore the black dress to dinner and dancing on Saturday night for the continuing b-day celebration.

Tie Dye Love!
A couple weekends ago I went to Chinatown Summer Nights here in Los Angeles and I had so much fun! It's kind of an outdoor block party slash craft fair slash swap meet thingy. Lots of booths with clothes, jewelry, art, yada yada. Super fun! So as I'm strolling the sidewalk, I spot this dress and fell in love. I talked to the designer and we became fast friends as we talked passionately about fashion. Such a cutie! He even dyed the fabric himself. That very night I did a mini photoshoot because I was so excited...
Why am I loving the dress? Well, you can wear it backwards or forwards AND it's got the jade charm attached (among other things). I also got a little bandeau top to wear under it even though it's super sexy this way. And the saddest part....I can't find the fabulous designer's info to tell you who made this silky goodness:( but when I do, he'll be hearing from me.
Now, where do I wear this?...

Bombs Away!
I'm DYING over these bomber/aviator/flyer jackets for fall! Granted in L.A. it's still 100 degrees out so I'm not quite ready for fall just yet. I'm a beach girl anyway and would live in my bikini if I could buuuuuuut I can't and will choose to wear this jacket in the meantime!
